Hello Al321,

First about the missing plus sign to open a new tab :

Would you please see if you can find it on the Customize page (3-bar menu => Customize) and if it's there : try to drag it in its place. If that doesn't work : click "Restore Defaults".

See : Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars

(as a workaround you can press Ctrl+T to open a new tab)

As for the tab previews : would you please check your settings on Options => General => Tabs  : Check : Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar"

The browser.ctrlTab.previews pref has been replaced and you can now look for this pref on the about:config page:

  • browser.ctrlTab.recentlyUsedOrder
