Hello, I was wondering why I have to install extensions in order to prevent popup to appear. Right now, of course, popup are disabled in the option menu, I have two Adblocker (Plus and Ultimate and I need both, despite the subscriptions are almost identicals), Ghostery, Popupblocker and Behind the Overlay, but in some cases these are still not enough. I have to accept cookies (but not from third parties) and when I close the browser, everything is going to be deleted by custom settings. I do not have any malware/virus, I don't install random programs, I don't have any sidebar. I keep all the software up to date. Any suggestion? Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.

Cheers.

I'll give this advice too many adblockers or A/V will cancel each other out letting ads come through. So you need to go back and find one adblocker and one A/V and use that first to see if the problem persists.

Maybe contact the ABP developers (ABP support forum) and ask them for a rule to block these pop-ups.

Thank you guys, but if I installed all these extensions is because otherwise I would still have pupup, ads, etc... I sent a request for help to ABP, but, at this moment, I don't have a reply. For me seems silly anyway that I have to install extensions with all the privacy options in Firefox itself and that was the main reason for my post. Firefox should block popup by itself, but ... Recently I saw ads even between the Google search results. Ghostery couldn't help and the issue seems resolved without any intervention (still don't know how. No updates occurred). If you have any other suggestion, I will give them a go. :)

Cheers.

With extensions like Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin you need to setup filters to block specific content. Some filter are available via filter packs and other filter rules you need to add yourself.
