AT&T seems to prefer secure mail keys over normal passwords. Have you tried that to see if it makes a difference?

yes! att does seem to REQUIRE secure mail key! after setting up secure mail key, it did WORK took forever to find solution! but thanks to all involved my account is working after many months.. rex thompson i hope i need not type this again, your website is difficult for me to use!
