when writing, enter button always skips a line, even in "Paragraph"

It seems that this happened after the last software update to Thunderbird:

When composing an email, when I hit the enter key, the cursor always skips a line, even when I am in the "paragraph" mode and do not want to skip a line.

Is it possible to not skip a line when pressing "enter" on keyboard?
