Help. Since I upgraded to the newest version of Thunderbird (MAC). When I double-click on a word when while composing an email it brings up an HTML Attributes dialog window instead of selecting the word.

This is an unresolved Known Issue:

I can't offer any advice, except to check if this is fixed in 60.3.1, due perhaps this week.
