After updating Windows 10 version 1809 Thunderbird crashes with an IRQL error on startup

After receiving this I contacted Lenovo support. They asked to update the BIOS and then try a 'sfc/scannow'. Both completed successfully.

I've uninstalled and deleted the Thunderbird directory. Re installed and still the same. Also tried in safe mode, still the same.

Actual error message is 'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL'.

Sounds like a straight up windows problem, so I doubt we can do anything.

What version of Thunderbird? Are you a new user?

I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird and have been using it for a long time. I've not had to use another client, i.e. Foxmail

Check to see if your drivers need updating for eg: Graphics, LAN, Sound.
