HI everyone,

I am getting shed loads of emails from Facebook asking me to' friend' someone, or accepting my 'friend offer' or people notifying me of things, often they are replies to me as if I am someone called James, I don't know who that is! I have never been on Facebook in my life and I have no wish to do so! How do I stop them and why am I getting them, how do these people have my emails address?

Thanks very much

This is not really a Thunderbird problem. Emails are sent to server and those emails get downloaded.

You could set up a filter: When getting new mail - 'Filter before Junk Classification' 'From' and 'contains' and 'facebook' use 'set Junk status to' and select 'junk'

Then the Junk controls should move it to Junk folder.

However, I've located some info for you. There is little me quoting what I've found - best you give it read. Please read this link first: https://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/7086/i-do-not-have-a-facebook-account-but-keep-receiving-emails
