I have not received new mail since 9/2. I get the error dialog boxes as shown below. Can't seem to attach a file or copy/paste them. The 1st one is when I startup mozzilla, at which point I enter my password (which I changed after this problem began). The 2nd error is after entering the password.

You either have to ignore the gmail hype about less secure apps and go to their site and turn that option back on or change the authentication method from normal password to Oauth2 in account settings for both your IMAP and SMTP servers in Thunderbird

did you get an email from google telling you to turn off less secure apps? I did and doing so breaks the ability to get messages in older account setups.

Matt, I do believe I did get the "less secure apps" message. If that is my problem, how do I resolve it? Gayle
