For every new page I try, it first stays at "Looking up.." for a brief time of 3 to 4 seconds and once that is done, all loads really fast. But Chrome loads just quick that I hardly can see such "Looking up.." message. Tried changing Content limit to default 4, 2, and 7. Removed all Add-ons. Removed Flashplayer. Yet no help. I really want to use FF and get far away from prying chrome. Any help highly appreciated.

You can check the Timings tab in the Network Monitor.

There is also a DNS lookup tool on the about:networking page.

Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).
