Blocking known safe site with no "advanced" option in 5.2 since last update.
I am trying to access a site I know to be OK. Used it for years (Baen books). Since the new update to ESR, I can't see it (and others) and the "advanced" option to allow me to set an exception is no longer available.
Needs to be fixed. You simply must not decide to remove access because you think it is "the right thing to do". You are behaving like MS.
In an aside, I am already likely to drop FF when the ESR is eliminated. You have eliminated too many extremely useful add-ons with no functional replacements.

How come you don't use just FF not ESR FF? And also FF End user forums saying what your saying does no service to anyone here to give help here. You want help ask for the help but refrain from making off base remarks on software FF forum has no control over.
Perhaps my selection of the somewhat innumerable and not particularly understandable selections for posting are at fault. It is a bit difficult for civilians to decode the required jargon. There are so many alternatives. Frequently requiring yet another account. Sorry if I posted in the wrong place.
I am not sure what you are saying. FF is (to me, and many others) not viable without the functions of some of the ESR add-on's. Data on replacement functions have not shown a sufficient improvement the last time I looked (also a bit hard to find). These things were the core of why people adopted FF. FF 60+ simply does not do it. Even if it is good for my heavenly cybernetic ascension.
I do not want to abandon FF; but Mozilla is forcing it. There is a long history on the internet of really great applications disappearing because they just failed to keep the needs of the user at the top of their development list. Mozilla is doing this for the "good of the users" without asking the users. And many of the benefits seem useful. But existing function must not be dismissed without a viable alternative. From looking at a bunch of stuff, it appears to me that the new FF was not really ready to satisfy users when released. But that is a private view. No actual basis.
It is really none of your business that I chose to use ESR. Nor is it relevant to my issue.
The latest update for ESR appears to make it impossible to connect with a number of sites I have used for a very long time, and/or accept a site's validity. And they have removed the only way (advanced) to reject the opinion of FF.
The concept of top 10 contributor also confuses me a bit if these are the results.

Seems fine in Firefox 61. Can you give a little more of the error page detail? There actually are two different full page connection errors:
- "Your connection is not secure" -- page generally has an "Advanced" button to get more technical information.
- What do the security warning codes mean?
- For the most common error code: How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites
- "Secure Connection Failed" -- typically has scantier information about the problem and if the green padlock appears normally, can be taken to mean "connection failed" -- there's no Advanced button

What error are you getting and if possible include any code starting with SEC_ERROR or SSL_ERROR or similar.
Here is what I get. Learn more goes to Mozilla. That is why I assumed it is FF blocking it.

ESR currently refers to 60 ESR (60.1.0esr is current) as the 52 ESR is Legacy and almost EOL. The 52.9.0esr out on June 26 was the last major update and it will be made EOL on Sept 5th when only 62.0 Release and 60.2.0esr are Released.

Now, for ESR 52, can anyone explain what is happening?
A connection has been reset message can have various reasons. The web server can reset (close) the connection or other software or devices in the connection path can close the connection. When the connection is closed then there is no way to circumvent this without knowing what caused it and an exception won't help anyway.
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?
I am just going to quit. I don't believe it has happened on any other site I have looked at. It did seem to start when a FF update was installed. I need to get my order for downloaded books around the first week of August. I'll see what happens. Maybe they broke their site. Although someone on this thread tried and it worked for them.
