How to set default dropdown to get ALL messages
I have a mix of several IMAP and POP3 accounts
I want to change the behaviour of the "get Messages" dropdown ( the first item in the mail toolbar)
I want the top ( default) item to be "Get All Messages"
currently the top item is "Get Messages" which only gets messages from the currently selected account.
It may be I'm missing something as I am new to Thunderbird, having been extremely happy with Microsoft Internet Mail then outlook express then windows live mail, but I need a supported offline email client and I'm finding it a hard transition.
Chosen solution
Had a search for an addon extension and located the one below which sounds like a button which can Get all Messages for all accounts.
hope this helps you.

'File' > 'Get New Messages for:' > 'All Accounts' Shortcut key :'Shift' + 'F5'
Not able to use shortcut keys, it is the default behaviour of the dropdown that is the issue.
re :Not able to use shortcut keys,
Can you offer an explanation of why you cannot use your keyboard? To use Shortcut key :'Shift' + 'F5' This shortcut key will search for New Messages on All Accounts. the same as using the button.

No problem, I have a medical condition that without going into details, means I don't use any two key combinations, ever.
Did the addon work for you ? If yes, could you mark that response as 'Chosen Solution'.
