Why Firefox is not open .pdf anymore

Every time since last month that I try to open a .pdf file the Firefox starts to open one window after another and it doesn't stops until I close all together. Is pretty annoying! How come it works perfect before and now keep doing that? I thought if I update the browser this problem could be solve but I was wrong, it's still there. I had to start using another browser to study without worry about that.

Options > General > Applications and select the software you use for read pdf to "preview in firefox".
