FireFox 58.0.2 (64-bit) Bookmarks / Show All Bookmarks / Import and Backup / Backup Crashes every time as soon as this menu choice is selected.

Same problem runing in safe mode.

What do I do to get my back ups saved so I can restored on a different computer?

There could be a problem with the files in the <strike>sessionstore-backups</strike> bookmarkbackups folder folder in the profile folder that stores the compressed backups, so maybe check that folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

I tried deleting (moving to a different folder) the three files in the sessionstore-backups folder. Still crashes.

I only have three entries in the crash reports and all three are submitted. bp-49882a67-07e2-4ab7-bb10-f08bc0180304 3/4/2018 11:35 AM bp-0b14e1b4-dfef-420a-81a3-64e1d1180304 3/4/2018 11:31 AM bp-31cefed4-aaa1-4048-a87c-f52e00180302 3/2/2018 1:54 PM

I just noticed the auto-bookmarks back up files are still being created.

FF has been crashing here and there and often on goolg maps now, for the first time I can ever remember, ever since I updated my graphic card to 1080Ti. Not sure of that is releated. The back up stopped working about the time I did the upgrade but I can't remember for sure.

Let me know what to do next. I have been keeping backups so I have a back ups that are about three weeks old so it would not be a diaster if we can't get these back but I did bookmark a lot of important development stuff in the last couple of weeks that woudl be REALLY nice to get a json version of these back.

The export to html still works.

Is there a command line option to have FF back up the book marks in json format. I could only find the option to back up in html format.

Thanks!

I see I mentioned the wrong folder in my above reply. What I meant to post is an issue with the automatically created backups in the bookmarkbackups folder since you have an issue with opening this folder

What should I do or look for with the bookmarkbackups folder?

Properties on it shows read only checked, but Windows "security" is weird and can't seem to uncheck this but I still can access the folder with no problems and FF is still doing auto back ups into this folder just fine. In fact I just saw a new back up in there a few minutes ago while writing this reply.

I thought the backups were .json files? Here is the file it just created. bookmarks-2018-03-04_14170_lAj4f-MLjdf6S4wpuf6fig==.jsonlz4

I don't know if this is related but I also crash every time on any web page that hase a file upload browse button. Clicking the button crashes ff every time.

I will submit a bug report on this now too. I am thinking this has something to do with my upgrade to dual NVIDIA 1080TI graphic cards. Are there some "enhanced" FireFox graphic features I can turn off?
