How can I stop Firefox from rendering local emoji?

This is frustrating me. At some point, in on of the recent updates, Firefox began rendering emojis via a local device font, and I can't figure out how to make it stop. I went to r/firefox for help. I don't want to try the solution, because it may work for normal website browsing peoples, but it would complicate things for me beyond the whole Firefox thing. It's to the point wherein I'm actually getting angry. I love Firefox, but when browsers begin screwing with my blogging life, I have issues and lean toward means to avoid these things.

I need my browser to render the emojis WordPress renders not just because of other sites I visit, but because of /my own/. Because I blog and manage other people's blogs, and I NEED to be able to make sure all is working properly. I can't do that if Firefox up and decides it's gonna be rendering local emojis now.

If this ability is not available, it should be -- and it shouldn't be defaulted to to this setting, either. I visit my friends' blogs, and because Windows 10 does not have those emojis, I cannot see them. WordPress converts emojis to images to AVOID this issue.
