Removing lightning deletes calendar. Only want to remove Lightning! Keep Calendar.

The Lightening Holiday calendar just clutters up the right side of the today pane with duplicates and other unhelpful holidays. Haven't been able to edit it. Can find a way to just remove the holidays part. However when I remove or disable lightening it removes the whole calendar including the today pane. Don't want to reinstall Thunderbird for fear of losing all my data.

Lightning is the calendar so I do not know what you expect to happen when you remove it.

Thanks for the SA reply. (You might want to re-read the 1st sentence or not...) Anyone out there with a conscientious response to remove just the holiday calendar? Thanks.

Maybe you want to read you title YOU for the thread. Plus you mention remove and disable lightning. DUH! People can only read what YOU write.

last time I installed Thunderbird it did not come with holidays. Open the calendar tab Select View-Calendar-Calendar Pane Check Show Calendar Pane

This should list all the different calendar ovelays. Mine has a Holidays, that I installed. Uncheck that.

See, now that wasn't too difficult was it?

By the way, here's where the holidays calendar is found: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird/calendar

Thanks for the help.
