Accessed my email and other accounts up till 5 o'clock pm. Passwords for amazon, estores, and everything gone. Tried to retrieve email pwords. My two emails were each others' backup. So, that failed. My new cell phone number of 3 months (that I entered for yahoo security) was not recognized. I needed to provide missing digits of an old cell number that I disregarded one year ago. I did try to revert to an earlier system restore point. That did nothing. I will gladly pay for help. Abby

Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.

Please remove that information from your post.

Please try rebooting the computer.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

found my old profile. could not open it because it was corrupt. I tried various programs to open it with no luck. I am physically sick over this.

What do you mean by corrupt? Give details.

You can check if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in case the Refresh feature in Firefox has been used and a new profile has been created.

You can check in Windows Explorer if there is a previous version of the logins.json and key3.db file available.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

To everyone who tried to help. Thank you but I did not succeed. I am way past panic and perhaps i'm mucking up the works worse by my panic. I'm now asking - begging - for help directly. I will gladly pay because my life is in my email account. Rent receipts, info on my parents (no longer with us) and everything. Without this information I am a lost person. Many things can't be recreated. I expect to pay for this help and am so glad to do so. I am shaking with fright - no kidding. GeekSquad and several other tech help companies can't help. I looked at my firefox profile, saw two files needed, copied onto desktop, tried to read them, login file in corrupt. That's as far as I was able to go. I realize I need more help than posts/responses here. Anyone care to help? Please.

I like to add email passwords and other accounts unrelated to FF isn't really a FF problem here. It sounds bad but FF isn't responsible for lost and missing logins. If the user didn't take means to backup passwords and logins then it befalls on the user fault. And if files gets corrupted and recovery fails there not much else anyone can do here. You should take it to a computer shop to help if they can recover or restore lost data.
