the apps i've found don't seem to automatically use existing search terms, but require separate list of keywords to highlight. i use this feature ALL the time on an ad hoc basis, and don't have time to do that.

years ago i lost this functionality when the google toolbar became obsolete, but then a third party author wrote 'google toolbar lite' which did it. i used that until my most recent solution, which i believe was native to firefox until v.52. now it's disappeared again. WHY are these things just left behind, not considered? and more importantly, is there a v. 57 solution?

and btw, despite admittedly not having given myself much time to get used to it yet, i'm not convinced by the black background to the tabs. apart from anything else, i believe that websites' favicons have been designed for a white background....

CORRECTION: the highlighting worked until the previous version, which for some reason i was thinking was v.52, but it was actually v.56 (i just thought they'd skipped some iterations for some reason).
