I received message that an email wouldn't open because too full and I needed to compact folders. I tried to do that. It crashed and now won't open because my profile is missing or not accessible.

Found a simple solution: Opened Thunderbird from Start programs. Seems to have fixed itself.

How were you starting it when you see the profile not accessible/space message?

I was opening it from the shortcut on the desktop. Apparently, that's what got messed up. It fixed itself when I shut down and then opened from the Start menu, because I'm again opening from the shortcut.
