New emails are not showing notification icon on taskbar.

I have checked all of the settings on the option page. Show alert, play sound, all work but have to manually open the program to get notification and sound to work.

How do you expect the program to know anything if it is not running? Or are you looking for some sort of minimize to task bar add-on to make it like outlook?
