"find in text" window keeps going back to old keywords. Help?

For context; I'm taking classes & working as a customer service rep. from home. Using "find in text" is vital to both for quickly getting through hundreds of pages. Problem is, old keywords keep reappearing in the search box. Same words every time I click back onto the window/tab I'm using to search text.
