firefox stops from being my default browser, why?

Additional Information Added: OS win 8.1, Firefox v.53.0.3

  1. 1 This first Image shows, what I should See, but I do not, See in my Browser Options
  2. 2 Second Image: Restore Default only changes my Home Page.

I lose Firefox as my default browser frequently.
Why does this happen?
It gets to be a Pain, to go through the process to reestablish it.
As a suggestion to Firefox, you need to let us know when it is changed from
Default to non-default.
Also Firefox should have ONE BUTTON TO SET IT, AS DEFAULT.
