Firefox has a feature called automatic private browsing that you may want to try. It doesn't retain any aspects of "history" between sessions, including URLs visited or cookies. It also can't automatically fill passwords, so if that is important, you'll need an add-on for that.

To give that a try, you may want to first (1) finish what you're working, and (2) clear your existing history, before going into the Options page:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Privacy. On the right side, if you don't seem detailed settings, change to "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history". That should reveal the checkbox for "Always use private browsing mode". After turning that on, Firefox will immediately ask you to restart in a private session.

Does that do what you want? If you want to manage cookies separately, an alternate plan would be to simply untick the "Remember my browsing and download history" box on Privacy options instead of going full private browsing.
