I just want to be able to email you a question. while I was filling this section out, I tried to check history for the websites that had been blocked when I tried to access them. I could not get back to this section and...without my requesting it, the last week of history was erased. I admit to being very frustrated. All the websites I was attempting to access were ones I had used previously using Firefox. I read the explanations , to me and apparently to others, the explanations are not satisfactory. The method suggested for getting around the block...click the "i" and then you will be given an option to disregard or overrule the Block? ... I was not given this option . It did not appear in this process. I liked using Mozilla. But this new enforced security for sites that have never caused an issue or have never evidenced a problem with security makes it impossible to use Firefox.

Is there anyway I can simply go back to the previous version?

Thank you for your help. I simply decided to go back to 49.02. It is working well. I may try 50 again sometime in the future, but for right now I just preferred a working browser.

And I have to admit, I did miss my theme which had not yet been updated to work in 50.

If I do experience any problems with this previous version, I will report back.l

The following is the complete question I submitted. It does refer to the original question I asked but for some reason that question disappeared.

Install an older version of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under "I still want to downgrade" Click the Directory of other versions and languages link Look for the directory of the version that you want. But remember that old versions may have security issues.

First, however, please try this;

Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.

Do Not remove the profiles folder.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.
