Cannot get rid of adware

Firefox runs fine, until i go on a webpage (it happens on about 50% of webpages) where ads pop up called 'ads by turbomac' and they slow firefox massively, making it almost unusable.

I have tried running firefox with addons disabled and in safe mode, and stil get the ads. All of my extensions are set to activate when i say so, rather than automatically.

How on earth can i get rid of this?!

Hey Elliot!

Try using and adware cleaner like: AdwCleaner

It should remove those ads.

Hi both.

I have already read that article and tried everything in it, to no avail. I did google the solution before posting here!

Adwcleaner is for windows, I forgot to post I am on a mac. Is there any reccomended Mac friendly version?
