I tried to install Adblocker plus addon and I get the window saying Downloading and Verifying. The bar moves completely across indicating it is complete in loading but then nothing happens after that. So I tried another add blocker add on with the same result. I never had a problem before in adding Adblock plus. It usually loads in seconds. I have done scans for malware, viruses. Nothing. Why won't it finish the install?

Chosen solution

I followed the advice of another user and went into Safe Mode and was able to load the add on that way and then restart in normal. Now the addon appears in the Extensions window. Maybe my anti-virus was preventing the add on from loading? Don't know.

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Is it listed? Any error message?

At that location it says "You don't have any add-ons of this type installed."

That is possible. What are you using for protection?
