Hello--

I bought a new computer, and have downloaded Thunderbird on that computer as well. I would like to somehow save (Export/Import?) and transfer my address book from one computer to another; so I do not have to type all the names and emails in again. Is this possible? I tried to "experiment" with the "Export" thingy, but nothing looked like it was working - I just want to make sure I am doing it all right.

Thanks, and I hopefully will hear from someone.

If you don't have added any extra address-books its easy. Abook.mab and History.mab can be directly copied into your new profile. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_address_books_between_profiles#Moving_address_books_to_another_profile

You can transfer your whole profile with all its mails, settings, filters, address-books ...... http://kb.mozillazine.org/Move_to_a_new_PC

There are add-ons that can help you. I would download them from the author as they are not updated in mozilla -addons. MoreFunctionForAddressbook ImportExportTool
