If I have some tabs open in non private browsing then change to private browsing then back again my previous open tabs disappear. This never uesd to happen.

If I have tabs open in Non-Private Browsing then change to Private Browsing and then back to Non-Private Browsing again, my previously open tabs disappear. This never used to happen and seems to be a recent thing. I have uninstalled Firefox and re-installed but the same still happens. What has changed?
