Search result links will not open
This began yesterday evening. I have Windows 10 and Firefox 44.0 I use Google as my search engine.
Last night I began doing some searches. One was for DHL. The Google page opened with results. When I clicked on one of the results, the 'G' in the top-left Tab began to spin and then stopped, but the page would not load to DHL, rather the results continued to be displayed. I tried some of the other result links - even Wikipedia, but nothing would load. It simply continued with the initial Google search results.
I tried some other searches, but it always did the same - loaded results, but cannot open any.
This morning same thing. I restated Firefox with Add-ons disabled. Still no change. I ran my anti-virus (Kaspersky), Ccleaner and HiJackThis. Still continues to not work. I am presently using my netbook to write this.
Also, I can open my bookmarks in Firefox and navigate to pages and sites. I can also click on a link in my Email to open a page or website, but Google search results are not working.
Ideas?
UPDATE: Uninstalled Firefox and then reinstalled. Nothing changed.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
