What is your default page? Is the page reloading, or loading two pages?

Firefox uses a vertical bar ('|') to separate multiple home pages. You can check the home page setting to see if the home page is included twice as part of the home pages.

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page

To set a single page as the home page you can drag the globe/padlock to the toolbar Home button.

What is the URL of your homepage? If we know that, maybe we'll have a suggestion about how to avoid that "reloading twice" from happening.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
