Thank You, I couldn't find it

The tools menu has no possible choice of submenu called options. Could you revise your advice to something more useful?

No. How about reading the answer again and following the instruction to use Tools on the Menu Bar? That would be USEFUL!

As I said before, and I repeat: The "Tools" menu does NOT contain a sub-menu called "options", so you instructions become completely meaningless.

Are you using a Mac? Look for preferences instead and keep your attitude to yourself.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04, and there is no "preferences" sub-menu either under "Tools".

Where are you accessing Tools from? The Menu Bar or the 3 horizontal line AppMenu button?

more options

I find two "Tools" buttons: One on the very top bar. When not pointing at it, it is covered by "Mozilla Thunderbird" and the account name I am having open. The other one pops up when I click on the three horizontal stripes in the upper right corner of the window. There is a "Tools" there too. NONE of them have "Options" or anything like that among the possible choices.

The tools on the Menu Bar is the only one that has options under it. That is the answer that solved the OP issue months ago. The AppMenu button has Options listed under the main menu. This is why it is a bad idea to hijack a solved thread instead of starting your own with the details of your system and problem. I am pretty much done with this Solved thread. If you require further assistance start your own thread.
