Keep getting an error message when trying to install on Windows 10. Why and what does it mean?
I am new to Firefox and it was recommended that I download it and use it instead of MS Edge. So far I am not impressed with Edge. I like Windows 10 but some programs (including Firefox) will not install.

Oh yeah, using a Dell computer, Inspiron 660S. More info attached. Using Windows 10 Pro
Try this:
- Download the Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ - Start the installation with a double-click on the desktop icon
Hmmm... Tried it and it did seem to work because this time it started extracting files. The box disappeared and about 5 minutes later the same error box popped up. Thanks for trying but still didn't work.
It is possible that Anti-Virus software is causing problems. Try to disable Anti-Virus software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.
Ah HA! I think I got it. After the last install attempt I decided to run Malwarebytes. It gave me the same error when I tried to update it. So I shut down, rebooted and it now works. Thanks! Now off to run Malwarebytes because I suspect there might be something there that is causing the issue.
