Windows 10 pro and firefox is the latest version.

i went to drag a tab(say youtube) off the tab stack to make a new window so i could have 2 windows but it would not move the tab, i have tried restarting my pc 5+ times nothing, i have booted firefox into safemode nothing, i cant even go into customisation and drag icons there to add history, settings, printer, fullscreen, privacy ect... I tried disabling every addon still no joy.

I dont know how to fix this so any help would be great thanks.

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options on Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
  2. Select the Advanced panel and then the General tab.
  3. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

If the problem is resolved, you should check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in these Knowledge base articles:

Thank you.

Ok so its took me a while to find this page again as this is not the most simple website to navigate.

After doing a 3rd clean install of firefox with no joy i decided to go for broke by doing a system rollback to 3 days before it all messed up and its now fixed so i guess something in windows messed up but i can now move my tabs.

Unfortunately i can not test the suggested fix as i no longer have the issue but incase anyone has the same issue i fixed mine by doing a system roll back.

Thanks for the help tho its appreciated.

Does the "Move to New Window" item in the Tab bar context menu work?

I see that you have done System Restore.

Are you still running the current Firefox 42 release?
