Browser blocks new window when a new account is created/logged in, but does not when a user navigates directly

The browser blocks the new window when a new account is created but does not when a user clicks on "Continue". Both actions use the same function.

There must be a difference in the browser to treat them differently. Could any one help me in fixing this!!? This happens only when pop-up blocker is enabled in fire fox.
