Outlook is running very slow. I have refreshed firefox, but this made no difference

Outlook works perfectly on my tablet and phone. On my Toshiba it is very slow. I am using Windows 8.1 with the latest version of Firefox. I have refreshed firebox but this made no difference. When I select an email to open, the icon wizzes round but the email does not open. The same occurs when I select another folder. Eventually, the email will open

Outlook and Firefox are two separate programs.

Or do you mean the web site?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies
    Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

  • Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
  • Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.

Thanks for that, but I am still having a problem. I can access other web sites with no problem. It is just outlook that has been running slow for some time. You asked me to Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.' What site am I looking for?

Outlook appears to better when I use Chrome
