Firefox has consistently crashed on closing for more than two weeks. I went through all of the trouble shooting steps and it continues to happen (including refreshing, "safe mode", checking add ons, etc.) Please help. Chosen solution

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

Thank you, Cor-el. Disabling hardware acceleration solved this. My NVIDIA driver was up to date though. Thank you for your help! I am grateful.
