Hello Eleanor

Please have a go at the steps below to disable VoiceOver

You can turn VoiceOver on/off in the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, or by pressing Command-F5 (or Fn-Command-F5 if you have a portable computer).

Steps by Step

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your desktop and select "System Preferences" from the menu.
  2. Click on the "Universal Access" control panel icon in the "Personal" section.
  3. Select the "Seeing" tab at the top of the window.
  4. Click on the "Off" radio button in the VoiceOver section of the window.
  5. Click on the red circle in the upper left corner of the window to close the System Preferences window.
