Lost all bookmarks on the 18th of April, it's all blank, lost how do I get them back? I think there was an update that day & everything is gone. I'm heartsick.

I've been using Firefox for a while now. You've had a few updates & I've always kept my bookmarks. But on the 18th of April you did any update & I lost all my bookmarks in that update.. I've tried looking for the answer & the way to get them back. But have not found a way. So how do I get my bookmarks back from before the 18th of April of 2015? Nothing you have addresses that subject. I'm heartsick about this.

Added note. I've stopped using Firefox because of this. I've had lots of links that I needed. Now I have to start all over.

Hi, first try: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore.

If that doesn't help, you should be able to restore them from your Profile folder, see Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data, and Recovering important data from an old profile.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the places.sqlite file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.
