What is you solution to all the recent, many crashes i am expierencing ?

more options

I would like to know what is being done to rectify this new daily crashing that i have been experiencing for the last few weeks. It is your software therefore I feel that you should come up with a solution. I am not interested in reading a thousand comments or going from page to page of useless information just to end up more confused than when i first came to find an answer. simply tell me if Firefox works with windows 8 64 bit and if it does what is the solution. please keep in mind that I did not attend an institution in computer programing. Layman's terms please. If it is no compatible just tell me and i will remove it otherwise, again what is your solution.

I think lots of users are successfully running Firefox 37 on Windows 8.1.

Sorry to hear about the crashes. Have you seen the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog come up? You can submit your crash data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the last section of the support article "Firefox Crashes" for steps to get those crash report IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.

Have you tried Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any less crashy?
