When I try to access gmail, I get the following message from FireFox:

"Untrusted Connection"

"If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

Additionally, Firefox offers no other solution to this problem.

This is a new HP laptop with Windows 8.1. My previous laptop had Windows 7 and before that all of the other Windows versions and I've never had a problem accessing Gmail before using Firefox.

I use gmail literally all day long for my work. Please fix this or tell me how to fix it.

hi, in order to know what's going on we probably need more information about the issuer of the failing certificate. please proceed like this: enter chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul into the location bar, and in the page that opens, set the server location to "https://mail.google.com" in order to retrieve and view the certificate. then please report back with the data of the issued by section of the certificate viewer. thank you!
