limit cache to how many MB recommended?

Tools/options/advanced/network tab. how many is a good idea? (i have just type in 1000 MB, but before that i only had 350, and my pages were always expiring, which was frustrating)

Is there any particular reason that you don't want to let Firefox handle the cache management with the default settings?
