What should cache space be set at?

Posted

I know where to set it. I want to know how many MB I should set it to.

It's in Options, Advanced, and then Network tab.

FireFox Version 3.6.17

Chosen solution

In Firefox 3.6 the cache can contain a maximum of 8192 entries, and maximum size is about 64MB. The default size is 50MB.

Firefox 4 allows a much larger cache.

You can increase the cache further in Firefox 3 beyond 64 MB. The 64MB maximum is for a single file. As soon as a file gets larger than 64 MB then Firefox starts saving a new chunk that replaces the previous chunk. The real limit is the total number of files in the cache and possibly hash collision that can occur.
