I've used firefox for years and love it. recently my kids downloaded several programs that had extra programs attached that infested my computer. After removing all kids of junk, I determined I needed to uninstall fire fox and reinstall. I did this, and when I reinstalled firefox, I cannot open the firefox program. origionally I got a error message, but now the computer just makes a noise and nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox several times.

hello, unfortunately this might be a sign that malware is still active on the pc.

please run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner, microsoft safety scanner & kaspersky security scan.

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version)
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs, then add it back. For detailed instructions, see
