How to migrate from Win XP to Win 8? Folders are different.

I installed Thunderbird on Win 8 and it created not one but two trees of folders. It seems I should divide up the contents of my XP Application Data\Thunderbird folders and put them under the Win 8 tree but which XP files go where?
