Fuzzy, pixelated, too thin or too bold fonts

I have this weird problem with Firefox. Some fonts seems to be too thin/bold, and a little fuzzy and pixelated. This is especially for fonts of some links. For example, results on trovaprezzi.it. In this case it looks a little too bold as you can see here http://img.techpowerup.org/140723/gross.jpg

I have similar problem also with the scroll bar when you right-click on a Firefox window. This is the Firefox scroll bar http://i59.tinypic.com/rm74pj.jpg

This is the Windows 7 scroll bar http://i62.tinypic.com/294nxu9.jpg

If you look very close, can see that the Firefox one seems to be more "thin"

I tried with the gfx.direct2d.disabled on true, but then the font of Bookmarks toolbar and other bars, looks weird and very fuzzy if you don't use defaul skin.

The first one is this site? http://www.trovaprezzi.it/prezzo_schede-grafiche_gtx_780_ti.aspx

That looks smoother to me, also on Windows 7 64-bit. (Screen shot attached)

Do you have ClearType fully enabled at the Windows system level? This article might be helpful: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-text-easier-read-cleartype#1TC=windows-7

I don't have ClearType, because I don't like how font looks outside Firefox. You are right, with ClearType the font on web pages looks better, but I had good font with IE and Chrome also without ClearType. Is there a way to activate only on Firefox?

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any way to apply ClearType inside Firefox separately from the system level.
