I downloaded the newest version of Flash, but the old version remained in my Add-ons. I tried disabling the older version, but both versions showed as being disabled? Should I leave both versions as activated?

Do all these versions also show on the about:plugins page and do they have a different file path?

You can delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox profile folder to force Firefox to rebuild the plugin registry.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

See Re-initializing the plugins database:

I uninstalled both Flash entries and reinstalled the latest version and everything is OK again.
