Hide Pocket in your Firefox New Tab page

Pocket for Firefox lets you easily save a variety of Web content, such as blogs, news sources, webpages and videos, with the click of a button. When you open a new tab in Firefox on your computer, the New Tab page will display Pocket recommended stories that feature the best content collected by other Pocket users. For more information, see Pocket recommendations in the Firefox New Tab page - FAQ.

Recommended by Pocket stories on the Firefox New Tab page is a feature currently available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, Italy, France and Spain. We're working to bring it to other countries.
If you don't want to see Pocket stories in Firefox, you can easily hide this content. (These instructions apply to Firefox on your computer. For mobile devices, see this article instead.)

  1. Click the cogwheel Fx89Personalize-GearIcon icon in the upper right corner of the New Tab page.
  2. In the menu that appears, click the Recommended by Pocket toggle Fx89Personalize-ToggleOn to switch it off Fx89Personalize-ToggleOff.

    • If you're enjoying these recommendations but simply do not want to see sponsored stories, just uncheck the Sponsored stories checkbox.
  3. Click Close to finish.

Tip: Another way you can hide Pocket content is from the Firefox settings panel:

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Select the Home panel.
  3. Deselect the Recommended by Pocket checkbox in the Firefox Home Content section.
