When I click on an Icon I get two copies of the same web site

When I click onto a site I get the "Home Page". If say I need to log in, I click "log in" and the log in page apears, after 3 seconds a second "Home Page" apears which I need to delete before continue. I also get two Firefox tabs on the bottom tool bar. If the Icon is "pinned" to the bottom toolbar I only get one Home Page
