when I am on a msn.com and I click on a link for news the new tab opens using bing as the search engine. I tried most of the config:about but nothing happens. I have it so that if I open a new tab, google will be the engine but when I click on a link, bing still is the search engine.

I think this happens because msn.com and bing is a search engine of Microsoft, try click in links from other sites, if you get a bing search engine try start in safe mode:
