Firefox hangs while loading most websites with the (Not responding) message.

After firefox hangs it then loads up the website however websites with video just have a blank screen where the video should be. When trying to clear the cache and cookies it hangs again and I get an unresponsive script error message. I've tried running firefox in safe mode and it still happens and I've ran a clean install of flash and firefox and its still happening.
