i have 1400esr and it is not compatible with bank update. I want to download 153 with No esr extenstion.
I have an account at watertown savings bank Watertown,Ma. In the past week I have not been able to sign in from my Macbook Pro running OS sequoia 15.8. I use Firefox as my browser. If I switch to Safari that comes on the macbook I can sign in. I was always able to sign in with Firefox. When I checked, firefox was updated on Sept 15th with version 140.16 oesr . The bank says its updates " sometimes conflict with Firefox".. but was unable to solve the problem.

There are two options. Keep the conservative ESR cycle, but just move to the newer 153esr and use that for the year. Or move from ESR to the normal rapid release, which will get updated periodically. Doing the former allows potentially changing mind later and subsequently going for the latter. It however can't be done vice versa, so once you're one the 155+ release, you can't migrate back to 153esr without potential data loss — so I'd personally recommend just updating to 153esr, and using ESR for the near future.
This page firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/osx/en-US gives you the option of "Download 153.X.0" that you can then just drag over your existing version and you should be all set.

Firefox 153.0 ESR is based on the Firefox 153.0 Release which is not the current Release now as the current Release is Firefox 156.0.
The Firefox 140.0 ESR (currently at 140.16.0esr) is based on the old Firefox 140.0 Release so some websites may think you are using the Firefox 140.0 Release and not a current version of Firefox 140.0 ESR since the Firefox UserAgents or UA do not show the minor versions.
The Firefox 140.17.0esr is the last planned update so the next update after will be to Firefox 153.5.0esr so you may as well update to Firefox 153.0 ESR any ways.
Thanks all, I downloaded the 156.0 version. And I'm 'banking' again..
